Tate Liverpool: Sander sees the humanity in everyone, Dix nothing but horror, in this superb show exploring Germany between the wars.
From The Art Newspaper:
A survey of early photography at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam (New Realities: Photography in the 19th Century, 17 June-17 September) will focus on “the noisy century” of the medium, says the show’s curator, Mattie Boom. Around 300 pictures from the museum’s collection of more than 150,000 photographs will be included.

This photoaccess exhibition is an exhibition I recommend – not because all the works are successful – but for combined messages.
J Paul Getty, Masterpieces, Photography
Here’s a 1999 publication that is really worth looking through – I borrowed a copy from the library. It is a gem. The production of the photographs in the catalogue are sumptuous – so do not settled for any online version here or elsewhere. You have to see the book – or even better see the originals. But that’s my point – see my comments after this sample.
