Touring the NGA for photography March 2019
As pointed last year, there’s a diverse selection of photography presently on exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia – in Canberra.
There is not one exhibition – what is being exhibited is scattered around the whole building.
Here is a selection from the NGA in March 2019 – there’s more to see – and any of these may be replaced as part of the constant change-overs across the NGA galleries.
Some of the over 200 photographs include works by (and there’s more)
Shi Guorui, Bill Henson, Bill Brandt, Laurence Le Guay, Max Dupain, Mark Strizic, Jill Crossley, Christian Thompson, Charles Woolley, Francis Nixon, Frederick Frith, Anne Ferran, Trent Parke, E. O. Hoppe, Felice Beato, John Kauffmann, Olive Cotton, Edward Steichen, Gertrude Kasebier, Margaret Michaelis, Donald Mennie, Lorraine Barber, Florence Henri, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Bernd Becher and Hilla Becher, Serena Stevenson, and Tony Albert.
and – one of the real highlights of the photography collection is a suite of seven photographs by Dora Maar
and there’s a special Maori exhibition – click here for the NGA page – that includes many photographs.
