What is the statue in the photograph?
We have been the joint-curators for the Frank Hurley exhibition now on at the Manly Art Gallery & Museum.
One of the photographs of Sydney harbour has an arrangement to the right hand side that features a statue – see photograph above.
The photograph was probably taken around the 1930s (but we are not sure).
Our question is: Is there anyone out there with a knowledge of such objects that are – or have been – placed on view on the side of the harbour – probably around Rose Bay area – but we are not sure of that either?
Does anyone know anything about this statue?
Here’s an enlarge version.
