Comments on 1995 contemporary art
So much on display within exhibitions of contemporary art still befuddle the general public. This is not to stay that amongst all the well marketed and fashionable stuff there is the occasional gem. But it is more the exception than norm. In fact one wonders how much of it will be remembered ten years from now.
It is rare to find any critical reviews of the current exhibitions of what is now termed ‘contemporary art’ – being art not aligned to any medium.
Even more puzzling are the wall labels written to sound so complex. One wonders whether anyone who has an awareness of the gallery visitor gets to edit these.
